EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Valéry Roy is an associate professor of the Mechanical Engineering Engineering Department at the University of Delaware. He has been involved in the development of introductory and advanced educational material for the 21st century in the area of engineering mechanics, culminating with the publication of two textbooks. This includes engaging undergraduate students in computational modeling by designing new curricula.

His current research interests span many areas of engineering mechanics, from the prediction of the macroscopic properties of multiscale materials, the modeling and simulation of the hydrodymanics of droplets, to the design, modeling and fabrication of muscle-like actuators.
